Norton Antivirus Setup - Symantec AntiVirus 8.1

Note: This instruction is only for the situation that your current Norton AntiVirus doesn't function. The new workstation will have 8.1 installed, for all other workstations, we will push the update from Server in the future.

Warnings: Removal of previous NAV versions is required prior to installing SAV 8.1

There are 2 places to get the 8.1 for installation:

1. Via PC Amigo => Available Online Software => Library => Symantec AntiVirus 8.1 => Install Symantec AntiVirus 8.1 Managed Client
2. Connect to Yale Software Library (http://www.yale.edu/software)
   => Access the Software catalog
   => log in with your Net ID
   => Select the Operating System "Windows"
   => "Go" Complete Catalog
   => "Go" Symantec (Norton) AntiVirus 8.1
   => Download
   => Save file sav_81 to your local machine (Desktop .. )
   => double click the downloaded file to start the installation.

Use the default setting after check "I accept the terms in the license agreement".
Be sure select "Managed" for the network setup type option in order to get auto update as shown:

A Parent Server will be signed automoticly:

This version can schedule to delete the quarantine after you finish the installation.
Click the "Purge Options" button:

The "Purge Options" window will open for you to schedule how long you want to keep your files.
