Persistent Course Reserve Search Option
-
The top and bottom of the screen contain a persistent Course Reserve
search header that allows new searches against up to two course reserve fields.
These searches will issue a combination of the "Sea" command, followed
by the course reserve searches indicated.
- Course No gets "Course ="
- Instructor gets "Instructor ="
- Title gets "Title ="
- Author gets "Author ="
- Other gets "Other ="
*If the user attempts to execute 2 searches of the same type, i.e. a search
for course = eng101 and a search for course = math202, drop the second search
and return the error message "Results from one search only; maximum of one
search per field allowed"
Search Request results
-
The string "SEARCH REQUEST:" should only appear when the field contains
a corresponding value. If a search has been made against one field
only, then "SEARCH REQUEST:" should only appear once. If a search has
been made against two fields, then "SEARCH REQUEST:" should appear twice.
Navigation Buttons
-
Navigation buttons have intentionally been limited to Back, Forward,
Start Over, and Help. (Index #, Guide, and Search History functions are not
available in the Course Reserves module.)
- Back is Notis"<F7> BACk page";
- Forward is Notis "<F8> FORward page";
- Start Over is Notis "SEArch menu" (not "sta");
- Help will link to a Course Reserve Help screen(URL to be provided).
These buttons should only appear when the corresponding command appears on
the Notis course reserve index screen. The navigation buttons should
appear at both the top and bottom of the index screen.
Index entries
-
Index entries should be numbered consecutively. The index numbers
are hotlinks to the detail records. Index numbers should be preceded
and followed by an underscore to increase the target area. We will
display 100 records at a time.
Available column
-
The course reserve status column "AVAIL" should be dropped from the
display.
Call Numbers
-
Call numbers should be displayed according to the enclosed call number
display algorithm "Parsing Call Numbers in Course Reserve Detail".
Course Reserves Image Map
-
The bottom of the screen contains an image map with a "Help" link to the
general help page (URL to be provided) and a "Library Catalog" link that
will issue the "STArt over" command.
