• University of Rochester is developing something called the Extensible Catalog "XC" (see April 14th news release), a Mellon-funded "open-source online system that can unify access to traditional and digital library resources." Considering that near-term goals include: "Outreach to other academic institutions doing similar work at libraries", should VTF recommend that Yale get involved? Should someone be in touch with Jennifer Bowen to express such interest?

• Britta will report on the "Role of technical services in institutional repositories" (panel discussion sponsored by ALCTS Scholarly Communication Discussion Group at ALA this past Monday)

• Developments at LC

• SARs debate at ALA (and AJL open letter, delivered to Deanna Marcum 6/20/06)

• What other changes should we expect from LC? To what extent is Yale going to follow LC's lead (considering recent ARL Directors' letter of support).
