Agenda for June 29, 2006
University of Rochester is developing something called the Extensible Catalog "XC" (see April 14th news release), a Mellon-funded "open-source online system that can unify access to traditional and digital library resources." Considering that near-term goals include: "Outreach to other academic institutions doing similar work at libraries", should VTF recommend that Yale get involved? Should someone be in touch with Jennifer Bowen to express such interest?
Britta will report on the "Role of technical services in institutional repositories" (panel discussion sponsored by ALCTS Scholarly Communication Discussion Group at ALA this past Monday)
Developments at LC
SARs debate at ALA (and AJL open letter, delivered to Deanna Marcum 6/20/06)
