Best practices in publishing & using electronic books

Wondering whether an e-book is the right purchase for your library?

The Forum presents a panel discussion between publisher, vendor,
library-publisher collaborator, and librarians, that will cover production
and purchase of e-books from varied points of view. What informs the
decision to publish a book in electronic format? What does it take to make
the e-book format successful? How well do e-books work for library users?
These and other questions relating to e-books will be addressed by the
panel:

**Bob Brand (Senior Manager Technical Support, Knovel Corp.) presents an
aggregator‘s perspective on providing access to e-books.

**Greg Giblin (Director of Market Development, STM Division, John Wiley
and Sons, Inc.) gives a publisher’s experience with developing useable,
sustainable e-book products.

**Kimberly Parker (Electronic Publishing and Collections Librarian, Yale 
University) offers a librarian's point of view on purchasing and 
integrating e-books into a collection.

**Mark Sandler (Collection Development Officer, University of Michigan), 
talks about collaborative publishing efforts between commercial 
publishers (Proquest, Paratext, OCLC) and the University of Michigan 
Press--most notably Early English Books Online.
