Ingenta launches Ingenta Connect Premium, a new upgrade service for
libraries
Visit the Ingenta booth (704) at the ALA Midwinter Meeting for a demo
of the new upgrade service
Ingenta, the technology and services provider for the publishing and
information industries, will be unveiling at the ALA midwinter meeting,
the launch of a new suite of services designed to save librarians time,
money and administrative resource in managing their online
collections. The cost-effective IngentaConnect Premium package
features a selection of enhancements to the free services already
utilized by Ingenta’s 17,000 registered library customers.
IngentaConnect Premium combines elements of proven Ingenta services,
with new features including:
*one-click subscription activation management
*searching by subscribed content only
*customized library branding and
*advanced usage statistics with a Flash interface
*introductory 20-user current awareness alerting license for 28,500
publications
The IngentaConnect Premium upgrade is available to current
Ingenta-registered libraries for an annual subscription of $495.
The upgrade package is supported by the reliable, flexible
infrastructure and redeveloped access and authentication system
recently introduced to underpin the new IngentaConnect interface
IngentaConnect, the most comprehensive collection of academic and
professional publications online, was launched in Fall 2004 and
receives on average 8,000,000 users a month worldwide. A broad range of
content types, including journals, books, reports, statistics and more,
are made available to users under subscription and through a variety of
different payment models such as library deposit accounts, individual
subscription sales and article pay-per-view access. The site offers
new tools designed to integrate the IngentaConnect platform with
popular browsers and search engines such as Firefox and Google. Users
can also take advantage of features such as flagged subscriptions,
marked lists, reference linking and alerting services.
