Reference Librarian/ Electronic Services Coordinator Library of Rush University, Rush University Medical Center
Search Re-opened.
The Library of Rush University is seeking an enthusiastic and
innovative Reference Librarian/Electronic Services Coordinator to
coordinate and promote use of electronic resources and services.
Located just west of the Loop in downtown Chicago, Rush offers an
ideal atmosphere for professionals to fulfill their career goals.
Job Responsibilities: Serves as the Library?s webmaster in
implementing the design, development and maintenance of the
Library's homepage. Will coordinate upcoming Library
implementation of new Rush University Web content management
system. Customizes and troubleshoots end user software and
databases. As a member of the Reference Services staff, provides
general biomedical reference service to faculty, staff and
students, performs mediated literature searches on OVID, DIALOG,
and other vendors.
Reports to the Assistant Director for Public Services.
Required: Master's degree in Library Science and Information
Science from an ALA accredited Library school. Excellent
interpersonal, oral/written communication skills and experience
in web development.
Preferred: Familiarity with graphics software such as MS
Publisher, Adobe InDesign, etc., experience in teaching,
experience in a health sciences library setting.
Salary Range: $40,000 annually. Rush has a comprehensive benefits

Although the oldest health sciences library in Chicago, the
Library maintains an up-to-date clinical collection of books and
journals (approx. 43,000 monographic titles, 2,000 electronic
serial titles, and a number of other electronic resources). The
Library serves the entire University and Medical Center. There
are 30 FT Library staff.
Rush University is the academic component of Rush University
Medical Center. Founded in 1972, the University currently has
over 1,400 students in Rush Medical College, the College of
Nursing, the College of Health Sciences, and The Graduate
College.
