This librarian will be strongly committed to facilitating the use
of traditional and electronic information resources as well as
technology resources in teaching and scholarship, and will
participate in a broad range of activities including facilitating
the use of electronic and traditional information resources as
well as technology resources in teaching and scholarship;
investigating new technologies and tools for teaching and
learning; identifying areas where traditional reference services
and information resource needs intersect with instructional
technology; performing reference assistance, research and
instructional consultation services; assisting in the selection
of information resources; and, investigating and implementing new
technologies and tools for teaching and learning.
Requirements for this position include:
an MLS degree from an ALA-accredited institution; proven
experience in the application of computer technologies in the
academic environment, particularly in the instructional
applications of technology; experience with a variety of
multimedia applications as well as basic productivity software
and working in a multi-platform environment; knowledge of the
application of computer technologies in the academic environment;
demonstrated ability to work effectively with faculty, students
and staff; and, the ability to work independently and as part of
a team. Preferred skills include experience with pedagogy and
instructional design, course management systems, digital video
and web design.
