The MIT Press is delighted to announce the launch
of a new quarterly journal, Innovations:
Technology / Governance / Globalization. It is
fundamental nature of innovations as a starting
point for addressing global policy challenges.
"This is a journal about how people use technology to address
major societal challenges," comment editors Philip Auerswald and
Iqbal Quadir. "It is less about what needs to be done, and more
about what people are doing. By focusing on practice, Innovations
complements existing journals=ADcutting across academic
disciplines and linking human action with global impact."
Technology increasingly defines the manner in which people relate
to each other; when technologies change, relationships change.
Innovations addresses the creative actions of social
entrepreneurs, inventors, public leaders and others who use
technology not only to change relationships, but to transform
governance. Each issue of Innovations presents:
* An invited essay on the topic of technology and governance
in a global context
* Practitioner-focused narratives of in collaboration with,
the innovators themselves
* Peer-reviewed research articles that link meaningful
indicators of the impact of innovations
* Analyses of policy and innovations by national governments
and transnational organizations, presenting perspectives on
policy innovations
It is through the exchange of ideas concerning the innovations of
today that better solutions to provide a forum that encourages
this ongoing conversation.
