RE: Blackwell Announces High Growth in Impact Factor
The sub-heading of this press-release ' Growth in citations of
Blackwell journals surpasses other major publishers' isn't
backed-up by anything in the text. The text does mention an
increase in number of published articles, but not citations. Or
am I missing something?

Blackwell Announces High Growth in Impact Factor
Growth in citations of Blackwell journals surpasses other major
publishers
Oxford, UK and Boston, MA - July 10, 2006 - Blackwell Publishing
announced that two-thirds of their journals increased their
impact factor from 2004 to 2005, according to the Thomson ISI(r)
2005 Journal Citation Reports (JCR). Blackwell now publishes 19
titles which are the top-ranked title in their subject category,
and 103 journals that rank within the top 10 in their respective
categories. Impact factors are a significant benchmark of a
journal's value and recognize how frequently peer-reviewed
journals are cited by other researchers.
In all, Blackwell increased the number of published articles
recorded by JCR by 15.5% from 2004 to 2005, the highest growth
rate among all major publishers. Blackwell now maintains the
largest share of articles in 26 different subject areas,
including agricultural economics, allergy, dermatology, ecology,
family studies, gastroenterology and hepatology, geography,
international relations, nursing, political science, public
administration and sociology. These findings demonstrate the
depth and quality of journals available at Blackwell Publishing.
"We are thrilled that these results reinforce what we have known
for years-researchers who choose to publish with Blackwell know
that their research will reach the widest possible audience in
their field," said Robert Campbell, President, Blackwell
Publishing Ltd. "We are fortunate to work closely with such
talented authors, editors, and societies who are committed to
making the best research available to readers."
To meet the shared goal of improving the quality of a journal,
Blackwell works closely with societies and editors to develop the
journal within its discipline and ensure that a journal is able
to reach its full potential.
Some highlights from this year's results include the following journals
with their change in rank.
