Re: Maximising research access vs. minimizing copy-editing errors
I would like to just briefly add to the point Anthony makes here
by noting that during 10 years that I worked as a publisher's
editor at two different commercial STM publishing houses, a
number of my journal's academic editors (editors-in-chief) made
fairly large sums of money in the form of royalties and/or fees
tied to the number of papers published per year. Three of these
editors made more than 100K/year for their work as journal
editors.
