Now Publishers to archive journals with Portico
Now Publishers to archive Foundations and Trends journals with
Portico
Now Publishers has signed a key archiving agreement with Portico,
an electronic archiving service launched in 2005 with funding
from JSTOR, The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Ithaka, and The
Library of Congress. Now Publishers, a privately owned company,
produces high quality, in-depth review articles in the fields of
business and technology. Their web-based Foundations and TrendsR
series of journals acts as a gateway to a library's primary
literature and combines the peer-review of journals, the high
usage of reference works, and the pedagogy of textbooks.
Through this archiving agreement, all twenty Foundations and
Trends titles will be preserved in the Portico Archive for future
scholars, practitioners, researchers, and students. Each
Foundations and TrendsR title comprises one or more monographs of
up to 100 pages, written by research and opinion leaders in the
field that surveys the literature and offers a state-of-the-art
review of the subject in full including a complete bibliography.
Two primary research journals published by Now Publishers are
also included in this agreement. They are the Quarterly Journal
of Political Science and International Review of Environmental
and Resource Economics.
As part of the agreement with Portico, Now Publishers will make
an annual financial contribution to support the Archive's ongoing
operations.
With the inclusion of Now publications, over 6,000 titles have
now been entrusted to the Portico archive. The complete list of
journal titles is available at
