Wiley-Blackwell Launches Review Journals in Social Sciences and
Humanities
Cutting-edge functionality added to Compass journals
Oxford, UK, July 11, 2007 --Wiley-Blackwell, which is part of
global publisher John Wiley & Sons, Inc., today launched
Sociology Compass and Social and Personality Psychology Compass,
online-only review journals in 2008.
To ensure that SHH researchers are conducting their research and
supporting their teaching with as much sophistication as those in
science, technology and medicine, Wiley-Blackwell has introduced
new technology-driven tools such as teaching and learning guides,
podcast series, and blogs designed specifically for researchers,
students, and teaching faculty in the social sciences and
humanities
'Compass journals are introducing review journals to the
humanities and combining the traditional-article based format
with new technology offerings,' says Philip Carpenter, Managing
Director, Social Sciences and Humanities, Wiley-Blackwell.
Each online-only Compass journal publishes 100 authoritative,
peer-reviewed survey articles, which survey current trends and
thinking across disciplines each year. The articles are succinct
and accessible and provide overviews of current research in the
field as well as new thinking on key issues. The Editorial Board
for each Compass journal is comprised of international experts
and the fast publication ensures that the archive of articles is
ever growing.
There are six Compass journals already available, including
History, Literature and Philosophy, which are available for
licensing by academic libraries, and Religion, Geography and
Language and Linguistics, which are new this year and on free
trial until September 30, 2007. For more information, visit
