Kudos to Oxford for Library subscription rebates for Open Choice
content!
The savings for libraries, in some cases, are substantial - up to
19% for online access to Bioinformatics.
This example illustrates the potential for a natural,
evolutionary transition to open access. If libraries apply these
savings to further open access initiatives, for example providing
additional funding for Open Choice to supplement the
contributions of funding agencies and departments, then
publishers can afford further rebates, freeing more funds to
support open access.
