ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, LIBRARY RELATIONS
SUMMARY: Work in an entrepreneurial environment for a
not-for-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of
scholarly electronic materials located in Princeton, New Jersey.
The Assistant Director will be part of an Outreach team
responsible for the promotion of the company archive and
expanding library participation in its preservation service.
Great opportunity to work in a dynamic environment dealing with
information technology, scholarly literatrure and the library and
academic communities. Reports to the Associate Director, Library
Relations. Approximately 40% travel required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Collaborate with Library Relations Outreach team members to
attain participation goals
* Communicate mission and fee structure/rationale to global
library community
* Secure participation from libraries at the institutional,
consortium & system levels
* Prepare regular updates and progress reports
* Collaborate with Associate Director to develop and execute
strategies for library community
* Work with Library Relations Outreach team to review and improve
written market communications
* Prepare proposals in conjunction with Associate Director
* Conduct campus visits & presentations to prospective library
staff
* Engage in regular dialog with management-level librarians
* Represent organization at industry-related meetings &
conferences
* Travel to U.S. and Canada accounts (Estimated 40%)

QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's Degree in business, humanities or library science.
Advanced degree in library science (MLS) or information science
preferred.
* 3+ years experience in business development, sales, or
marketing functions
* 5-7 years experience working in the library field, particularly
with library leadership
* Familiarity and comfort with technology, specifically,
library-based software applications
* Exceptional oral and written communication skills
* Outstanding presentation skills and experience in front of
senior-level audiences
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Ability to quickly master new and complex concepts
* Self-starter and independent worker
* Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
is required. Experience with Customer Relationship Management
software is preferred but not required.
