ALPSP International Conference 10-12 September
Please note that the Early Bird Discount ends on 1 June 2008
ALPSP INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE, 10-12 SEPTEMBER 2008
(www.alpspconference.org)
A new international conference for the learned publishing
community to be held at Beaumont House, just west of London and
within easy reach of Heathrow
The conference programme has sessions of relevance to all of
those involved in scholarly and professional publishing including
keynote addresses from Timo Hannay (Nature Publishing Group) and
Paul Evans (Elsevier). We have sessions on running an
environmentally friendly publishing house and looking at the
future of content and the Web. There are sessions for both book
and for journal publishers and we will cover topics of interest
to publishers of humanities and social sciences as well as those
working in scientific, technical and medical publishing.
More than just a series of presentations, the Conference offers
plenty of opportunities to network with colleagues, both old and
new. There is a lively social programme beginning with the
welcome cocktail reception and buffet on the Wednesday. The
Dinner on Thursday evening will include the announcement of the
winners of the 2008 ALPSP Awards and we are particularly pleased
that Ben Goldacre - author of The Guardian's 'Bad Science' column
- will be our after dinner speaker.
