Taylor & Francis Group achieves impressive growth in the annual Journal Citation Reports

Oxford, UK, 10th July, 2008 -Taylor & Francis, Routledge, and 
Psychology Press have increased the number of titles listed in 
Thomson Reuter's 2007 Journal Citation Reports by over 10% 
compared to 2006. Taylor & Francis Group and sister imprint 
Informa Healthcare now publish over 625 titles listed in Web of 
Science: 595 titles listed in the Journal Citation Reports (JCRs) 
or due for listing in forthcoming editions, plus over 30 titles 
listed in the Arts & Humanities Citation Index.

The impressive growth of Taylor & Francis Group journals is 
reflected in an 11% increase in total citations to titles listed 
in both 2006 and 2007 compared to a 9% growth in citations across 
all titles in the JCRs.

Taylor & Francis now publishes the top ranked title in 15 
categories, including Urban Studies, Mathematical Methods, Food 
Science & Technology, Cybernetics, Ethnic Studies, Ethics, 
Instruments & Instrumentation and History & Philosophy of 
Sciences.

Having achieved top ranking in 5 categories and an increase in 
impact factor to 3.934, Glenn McGee, Editor of American Journal 
of Bioethics commented, "We are now the number one ranked Health 
Services Research Journal ... and the journal of record for 
bioethics, a super fast growing and highly utilized area for 
students and faculty in all sorts of fields".

David Sawicki, Editor of JAPA, the Journal of the American 
Planning Association, was equally delighted that the journal has 
become the top ranked journal in the Urban Studies category, "I 
am very pleased that JAPA has achieved this level of 
performance-all the more so because we have not worked for a high 
test grade, but rather, have stuck with the fundamentals. We have 
16 terrific associate editors and a talented editorial board. 
Authors, referees, editors (especially our managing editor) and

More than 150 Taylor & Francis and Informa Healthcare journals 
increased their Impact Factor by 25% or higher, including the 
following which increased by 50% or more, Communication 
Monographs, Ethnic and Racial Studies, Regional Studies, 
Cognition and Instruction, Australian Journal of Psychology, 
Survival, Ozone: Science and Engineering, Critical Reviews in 
Analytical Chemistry, Critical Reviews in Environmental Science 
and Technology, Soft Materials, Ergonomics and Journal of Gender 
Studies.

Twenty-three Taylor & Francis journals gained an Impact Factor 
for the first time, including Journal of Experimental Nanoscience 
(covered from Volume 1), Gender, Place & Culture, Computer 
Methods in Biomechanics & Bio Engineering, Econometric Reviews, 
Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy Review, European 
Journal of Work & Organisational Psychology, Journal of Energetic 
Materials, Journal of Biopharmaceutical Statistics, and Journal 
of Applied Animal Welfare Science. A further 35 journals have 
been accepted for coverage in Web of Science(r) and listing in 
forthcoming Journal Citation Reports(r).
