Yale University Library Orbis 5 Upgrade News & Events

Even with CAS Authentication working in Orbis OPAC, visitors with borrowing privileges will still be able to log in to the Orbis OPAC as they do now, entering their barcodes (posted 9/29).
Initial critical testing of local programs is indicating a "Yes" for upgrading to release 5.0. However a few additional critical programs await testing. The next critical decision date for ILTS is Friday October 7, 2005 (posted 9/29)
The Catalog, Circulation, and Acquisitions/Serials forums will attempt to demonstrate the significant new features of the major Orbis modules. They are intended for staff who need to work directly with these modules as part of their primary work responsibilities. (posted 11/8)
The General forums are designed to cover new features of Orbis OPAC, including the search and display of diacritics in a Unicode standard OPAC. These general forums will also briefly touch on the major changes to all three Orbis modules, and provide an opportunity to ask questions about the upgrade event as it may impact your work schedule. (posted 11/8)
