Yale University Library Rescue Repository: Start-up Documents

The Yale University Library Rescue Repository (RR) is a managed storage environment for at risk digital materials owned by collections within the Yale University Library (YUL). It functions as a central storage space, administered by Integrated Systems and Programming (IS&P), where copies of these valuable digital materials may reside.

The Rescue Repository offers two different levels of service (see Pricing Information). Please indicate what level of service you will need for your collection:



Service Level One
- Primary disk space, tape backup and resource replication (copy) to redundant disk that is in a second physical location, plus RR applications, reports and support.

Service Level Two
- Disk-only replication service, no tape backup. Addtional RR services (suchs as applications and reports) available upon consultation with ILTS.

* If the material being ingested is stored on a server, please indicate what operating system (OS) the server uses. Please also indicate any means by which the ingest application can connect to that server (e.g. if OS is Unix/Linux, can SAMBA be used?). If you are unsure of these answers, please contact the administrator for your server.
