Holding Record's Location Change program: To start: A window opens that allows you to select the database where you will make the changes. Type in ORBIS. The CHGLOC program launches an ORBIS session. Then CHGLOC opens its own interface window. You will still need to login to the session. Toggle to the ORBIS window. The ORBIS session screens should take you directly to the login screen. Login as yourself. You are now ready to load key files and make changes to the holding locations. To load keys: You will notice that the keys show up in the left section window of the interface. 
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The CHGLOC interface: Limit the search by key: Begin Key AAA0000 End Key ZZZ9999 Connected to ORBIS Location Codes: Obsolete Code sml,num Replacement Code mudd,art [Add Code] Orbis Key List File Name _____________________ [Browse key file] [Load Keys] Number of keys loaded ___ Enter an Orbis Key to Load ______________ [Clear Key and Status Lists] You may limit the range of keys to be retrieved by the CHGLOC program by changing the beginning key and the ending key. Change the Obsolete and Replacement Codes to reflect your intended changes. You may do so by using the mouse to select the code and then type in the relevant codes that you will be changing. Selecting the [Add code] button will add the code you entered into the dropdown menus in CHGLOC. It is not necessary to add the codes in order to make the changes. 
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The CHGLOC function buttons: [Holdings] [Change] [Change All] [Pause] [Resume] [Stop] [Exit] [Help] [Holdings]- find the holdings record in ORBIS for the Key that you selected [Change] - Change the holdings record location code from the obsolete code to the replacement code (one record at a time) [Change All] - Changes the holdings records location codes from the obsolete code to the replacement code for all of the records in your key list. [Pause] - Pauses the function of [Change All]. The information is buffered, so the result is not immediate. [Resume] - Resume making the changes to the holdings records for all of the records in your key list after pausing. [Stop] - Stops the CHGLOC program from making the changes to the holdings records. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Result files: Located in the same directory from which the key list was imported. These two files will record the changes that were successfully changed and those that were not. The file is appended; it will not be written over. Nothing will be added to the file until you select [Clear Key and Status Lists]. Records are not updated if: a) the obsolete location is not found, or b) the record is deleted or flagged for deletion. These files will assist you in checking the results and correcting errors. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ To end program: Select the [Exit] key. You will need to logoff your ORBIS session and close the window.
