on the subject of jig bowings:
Jigs are my favorite to play, and I'd say that even more important than accent
emphasis is bowing. While not using it constantly, I tend to bow across the
beat and the bar line - two bars of eighth notes in 6/8 would look like
this:
with 3 and 4 tied, and 6 and 1 tied together
by slurs. This keeps the tune moving forward in a danceable manner, and it's
also a lot of fun to play.
