Three reasons for testing the Research Workstation (RW):

• Get user feedback to generate new ideas and evaluate site
• To determine where revisions were needed on the RW
• Opportunity for Advisory Board to set goals and objectives for short and long term management of the web site

Important questions to ask at the outset:

• Why are you doing the study?
• What do you hope to find out?
• Are you testing an old design or a new design?
• Do you want qualitative or quantitative information?
• How much data do you want to collect?
