The Lieberman Talmud Database

Created by the Saul Lieberman Institute of Talmudic Research of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, this computer research tool includes:

  • A databank of Talmud manuscripts, fragments, and early printed editions
  • An index of references to scholarly and rabbinic literature dealing with specific passages in the entire Talmud
  • A classified list of Geniza (archive) fragments in the JTS Library
  • A Line collation program which assembles manuscript evidence for Hebrew and Aramaic Texts, a function essential to secondary textual criticism

The Lieberman Talmud database is located in the Judaica Curator's office in Room 335A. To contact the Judaica Curator with any questions regarding this database, please phone (203) 432-7207 during business hours or email her at nanette.stahl@yale.edu.
